On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, John Alexander Ussery, loving husband, father, brother, son, uncle, and friend passed away at the age of 36. John always lit up the room with his contagious smile and humor. He was born in Roswell, New Mexico to Lena Price and Brad Ussery on March 7, 1986. He grew up in Medina, Texas with Lena, and Mark Price and his two sisters. John graduated from Medina High School in 2004. John enjoyed fishing in the Medina River, hunting in the hill country, and played baseball, football, and basketball. In 1998 he was on the Bandera Country Little League All-Star team. In high school, John participated in FFA, band and varsity sports.

He graduated from McCallum High School and joined the Air Force in June 1958 where he served 5 years, including time in Japan and Spain. After his military service, he served as an air traffic controller for 16 years until 1980 when he was terminated by President Reagan himself. Perhaps his most joyful career involved his over 20 years as campground manager for Camp Sionito in Bandera, TX.

He passed away in his sleep in the early hours of Monday, September 5, 2022, at the age of 93. Tim grew up in San Antonio and went to Burbank High School, while in school he worked at Dairyland Creamery. Before graduating high school, Tim answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the Marine Corps at 17 years old on September 5,1946. While in the Marine Corps, Tim served as a “Rifleman” & “Automatic Rifleman” for 2 years at the end of World War II. He left at the rank of Corporal and returned to San Antonio where he went to work at Colonial Cake Co. However, he re-enlisted June 1, 1952, and went to Korea where he was in Artillery, behind the front lines.
