This is your last chance to sign up for the NetSmartz Cyber Safety Presentation taking place this Friday, April 28, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Downstairs Meeting Room.

This presentation will give parents, grandparents, and caregivers the tools and knowledge they need to help their child navigate the internet safely. From cyberbullying to enticers, there are a lot of bad players on the internet.

But just because they are there, doesn’t mean your family can’t get all the benefits from the digital world too. Space is limited and it is important for people’s questions to be answered, so be sure to call the library at 830-796-4213 to register for the class. Or you can email us at programs@banderalibrary. org Every Saturday we have Dungeons and Dragons at 9:30 a.m. And this Saturday, the 29th, we will also be having our monthly outdoor yoga class. Yoga with Jacy is a great way to begin your yoga journey or to get a little variety in your regular practice. Bring your own mat and a bottle of water. All levels are welcome!

May is right around the corner which means it is almost Star Wars Day! This May The Fourth, we are hosting the first ever Star Wars Mini-Con from 4 to 7 p.m. Test your laser skills and blast some stormtroopers. Or build your own lightsaber and use it when you take part in the lightsaber training. Cosplay, games, vendors and trivia are sure to make for a galactically great time.

Thursday is also the Monthly Book Club meeting in the Downstairs Meeting Room from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

This month’s book is “Horse” by Geraldine Brooks. The book is based on the remarkable story of a racehorse named Lexington, whose remarkable story of breaking records is inextricably linked with the struggle of the nation during the Civil War. Join in for great discussion.

Saturday, May 6, is the Monthly Book Fair hosted by the Friends of the Library. There will be hundreds of books, audiobooks, DVDs and more all available by donation. Funds raised from the monthly Book Fair go to purchasing new titles for the library’s collection.

The Friends are also running their Spring membership drive. If you haven’t checked your mailbox and found a membership form, you can download one from our website at www.banderalibrary.org/ friends. Being a Friend of the Library means you support the library’s mission and help bring books to everyone in this community. Join today!

Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is still available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Stay up to date with library events by following us on Facebook (@BanderaLibrary), Instagram, TikTok (@banderalibrary), or sign up for our monthly newsletter through our website at www.banderalibrary.org.

Happy tales, y’all.

Mauri Guillen Fagan is the Executive Director of the Bandera Public Library.
