Bandera Library Happenings
The Bandera Library is pleased to announce a new resource available for our community. In partnership with Workforce Solutions Alamo, a WSA kiosk has been installed and is up and running here at the Library.
The kiosk will allow folks to come in and complete the interest forms and have access to live representatives who can connect them to the resources they need.
Workforce Solutions Alamo provides resources to help people get connected with jobs. This includes training, placement and even getting help with childcare.
Friday, June 25th from 10 a.m. to noon, Texas author Ben English will be here for an author visit and book signing. English grew up in the Big Bend area and spent much of his childhood working ranches. After serving as a Marine for several years, English then went on to work as a Texas highway patrolman. His books are rooted in his life experiences. Come by Friday to meet him and pick up a copy of one of his books.
It’s not too late to sign up for the “FALL Talk” on Friday, June 25 from 2 to 3 p.m. Learn about how to prevent falls by identifying fall hazards in your home or in public, learn about the importance of staying mobile and review medications that can make you more susceptible to a fall.
After a year-long hiatus, Storytime Stampede returns Thursday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to 11: 30 a.m. beginning on July 8th. Babies and preschoolers can come have a fun-filled morning with Miss Pattie. Songs, dance, art and crafts and of course reading!
It’s your last chance to register your kids aged four to 12 for the 2021 Summer Reading Program. Call the Library to pick up a form or you can download it from our website www.banderacountylibrary.org/summer-2021 .
The Library Board of Directors would like to thank Medina Garden Nursery for a large donation of pollinator plants for the Library’s native plant garden. Monarch and other pollinators will have a field day with the sages, salvias, mistflowers and other plants in this donation. Thank you!
The Bandera Library is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is still available for checkouts and business services. We are requesting those who are not fully vaccinated to wear a mask while in the library. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Happy tales, y’all.
