Cork and Fork benefit returns at Nagel clinic
The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic announced the return of its annual Cork and Fork, the nonprofit’s yearly benefit, on Saturday, November 13, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at The Farm Country Club, located at 347 Pue Road, ten minutes from downtown Bandera.
This year’s event, titled ‘Will the Circle Be Unbroken: Family Faith and Freedom,” will pay homage to forebearers and resilient community impacted by the pandemic, according to a press release from the clinic.
“With the availability of vaccines and other safety measures over the past year, we are excited to again be producing an in-person Cork and Fork, a massive hit with our supporters and friends in 2018 and 2019,” says Chuck Lutke, Executive Director.
The evening’s programming, emceed by WOAI News 4 Anchor Robert Price, will include a community prayer of thanksgiving, color guard, salute to veterans and dinner from Bandera Meat Market Catering.
The Hometown Hero Award will be presented to Dr. Saleh N. Jaafar, and attendees will be treated to a dramatic reflection of early Bandera County life featuring Kelly Columbia with music by Sally Cowan and Medina River Ramblers.
Additionally, all guests will be invited to sign the Clinic’s large thank you card to Dolly Parton for her part in helping to fund vaccine development.
Cork and Fork will also include an exciting concert and dancing to perennial classic country favorite and legend, Tony Booth.
Inducted into the Country Music Association Texas Hall of Fame in 2014 and receiving their lifetime achievement award in 2019, Booth has been entertaining crowds for decades, recording more than 12 albums, performed thousands of shows and working with the likes of Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Randy Travis and others.
Live and silent auctions will complete the evening’s fundraising efforts and offer one-of-a-kind items including a luxurious 5-night stay at the 5-star Palms Resort on Grace Beach in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
“Our patients and their families are the grateful beneficiaries of proceeds received on this special night of food, fun, and fellowship to provide health care for the uninsured,” Lutke said.
Single tickets for the seventh annual Cork & Fork, which include catered dinner with complimentary wine, beer, and soft drinks, entertainment, and recognitions, are $55 per adult and $45 per veteran.
Tables of eight are available at the discounted rate of $425.
