The holidays are here! Stop by the Library to pick up this month’s holiday themed Self-Care kit. Each kit contains simple and inexpensive ways to help you decompress during the busy holiday months. Take some time to have a cup of tea, take a warm Epsom salt bath, bake some yummy cookies and learn a new yoga pose that is shown to lower your blood pressure and ease anxiety. The kits are first come, first serve so stop by today.

The weekly Sit-and-Stitch meets near the Circulation Desk on Wednesdays at 4 p.m. Bring your knitting, crochet, needlepoint or any other kind of needle craft for some conversation and laughs. Also bring your crafting questions, there is always someone to help you out.

Have you read our weekly blog? Each week, the library releases a blog post on our website featuring a part of our collection and a list of recommended reading. Link to it from our Facebook page www.facebook.com/BanderaCountyLibrary or through our website www. banderacountylibrary.org. This week’s topic is celebrating National Caregiver Month with links to the Library’s extensive holdings on caregiving resources. Check it out today!

New titles this week include a new Tom Clancy thriller by Marc Cameron. President Jack Ryan has faced down every threat imaginable from drug cartel killers to the Russian navy. Not much can make this man scared. Except his family. So when a secretive billionaire who is intent on using his money to fund his own corrupt aspirations learns of President Ryan’s one weakness, he hires a team of elite mercenaries to kidnap the First Lady.

The Bandera Library is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Masks are recommended while in the library building. Check out our website www.banderacountylibrary.org for all upto-date information.

Happy tales, y’all.

Mauri Guillen Fagan is the Director of the Bandera Public Library.
