City appoints Allyson Wright as new City Treasurer

The Bandera City Council voted all in favor on Oct. 4 to appoint Allyson Wright as City Treasurer, after which she swore her oath of office and statement of officer for the position.

Inducted by Judge Mike Towers of Precinct 1, Wright repeated her pledge: “In the name and by the authority of the state of Texas, I Allyson Wright, do solemnly swear or affirm that I will faithfully execute the duties of the office of City Treasurer of the City of Bandera in the state of Texas and will to the best of my ability preserve, protect, and defend the constitution and the laws of the United States and of this state in the City of Bandera, so help me God.”

Wright has worked for the City of Bandera since February 2019.

“When I started, I was doing accounts payable, but since then I have cross trained in every department within the city,” Wright shared with the Bulletin. “My job titles have ranged from AP Specialist, Acting Treasurer, Deputy Court Clerk - where I earned my Certified Level 2 Court Clerk certification-, Marshal’s Office Administrative Assistant, to now, ‘officially’ City Treasurer.” Wright continued, “I am so excited for this opportunity. It has been a true pleasure to really grow my career with the City. I want to say ‘thank you’ to City Council and City Admin William Cox for being so supportive of me during this time, and to Mayor Schaumann for taking the time to mentor me and to help me advance my career. I look forward to many years serving the City of Bandera and bettering the finance department every day along that journey.”
