EDC adjusts for future
The Bandera Economic Development Corporation held a special meeting at Bandera City Hall April 5 to further the discussion in their search for a new administrative assistant, a position initially attributed to a shared service agreement between the city and the EDC but rejected by the EDC in a vote of 4-2 March 27.
After the board approved the resignations of President Billy Greeson and board member Barbara Poss, both of whom resigned last week, the board elected member Andrea Jankoski as acting president until October.
Secretary Alan Arterbury abstained ni the vote.
The board briefly reviewed the need to advertise for openings on the newly vacant seats.
Previously nominated businessman and musician Doc Williams was present at the meeting as an interested applicant.
In considering a process for hiring a new EDC administrative assistant, the board conferred over the current eight applicants.
Vice President Laura Devenport suggested they reach out to each applicant to determine if they were still interested in serving.
“We should check their references, social media and background checks," said Devenport.
Arterbury stressed this was an important process for the board and they should have a special meeting to review the applicants.
Board member Lindsay Barnett volunteered to get the process started by contacting the applicants.
EDC scheduled a special meeting for April 17 to review and deliberate on a final group of two or three vetted applicants.
