New COVID deaths reported, active count decline
Two new deaths in Bandera County were attributed to COVID-19, bringing the death count since the start of the pandemic to 48, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) as of Monday morning.
DSHS listed 53 active cases in Bandera County as of Mon day, down from last week’s count of 70.
Statewide, active cases continue to decline as well, with the number of new cases dropping nearly half in the past month, with the Coronavirus Resource Center at Johns Hopkins University reporting 67,124 new cases and 1,851 deaths.
As of Monday afternoon, DSHS reported that 50.8 percent of Bandera County’s population aged 12 and over were vaccinated with at least one dose, with 44.53 percent of that same age demographic being fully vaccinated.
DSHS reported Monday there have been 1,563 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Bandera County and 611 probable cases. 2,076 cases have been marked recovered.
