Zoning commission, city council move forward toward adoption of new ordinances
On November 3, the Planning & Zoning Commission voted all in favor of recommending to Bandera City Council the Bandera Comprehensive Plan, zoning changes and other ordinance amendments.
On November 4, the City Council convened with Simple City Design to hold a public hearing and first reading of the Bandera Comprehensive plan, the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance, including Appendix 1 Transportation Master Plan, Appendix 2 Subdivision Ordinance, and Appendix 3 Place Type Zoning Ordinance.The public was provided a chance to speak to the proposed changes, but no one stepped up.
Matt Lewis from Simple City Design then presented a quick overview of the Bandera Comprehensive Plan as a final informative session to the attending public.
After the reading of the citywide rezoning that will replace the current zoning districts with new place type zoning districts in the updated zoning ordinance, the council voted in favor. After reading the ordinance to adopt the Bandera Comprehensive Plan, including Appendix 1 Transportation Master Plan, the council voted in favor for.
The Council then voted in favor of an ordinance amending chapter 10, Subdivision Regulations of the Bandera Code of Ordinances.
In regard to the ordinance amending the citywide comprehensive zoning map by replacing the current zoning districts with the new zoning districts in the updated Chapter 14 Place Type Zoning Ordinance, the council agreed that citizens of Bande ra should have a grace period in which to apply for requests/revisions to their new place type classifications. Since all revision requests are not all in yet, the council will discuss the amount of days for the grace period.
The City Council is scheduled to have a public hearing to officially adopt these changes on November 16.
