CHARLES GRAVES
Charles Lee Graves, 83, of Boerne, Texas passed away on his birthday, Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at First Baptist Church Boerne at 1 p.m.
Charles was born on Feb.y 26, 1937 in Gonzales, Texas to Tyre Weldon and Alice Graves.
He was a kind, giving man who spent a lifetime in service to family, friends and God.
He was married to his college sweetheart Mary for nearly 59 years. They began their life together with Charles as a missile launch officer in the USAF. After military service, he began a 31-year career in education.
Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Graves, his two sons, Doug Graves (Tammie) and Jonathan Graves (Carol Jane), four grandchildren, Ben Graves (Laura), Sarah Nicosia (Joe), Beth Stitt (Andrew) and April Newton (Micah), nine great-grandchildren, Addison, Kyle, John, Avery, James, Leah, Daniel, Joshua, and Frank; and his brother, Cecil Graves (Kathy) of Boerne.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lillie.
The family would like to express their gratitude to friends and family of First Baptist Church Boerne and to the fantastic people at the Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg.
Instead of floral remembrances, the family suggests that donations be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Samaritan’s Purse or the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society.
