FRED “FREDDIE” HAMPTON
Fred “Freddie” Hampton, 56, of Windsor, Missouri, died early Saturday morning, June 5, 2021, surrounded by family at his son and daughter-in-law’s home in Smithton.
He was born December 12, 1964, in Independence, MO, the son of Lowell Frederick Hampton and Linda Joy (Thompson) Hampton.
Freddie worked for Rival and as a chef, but his true enjoyment and what he was most proud of came from working as a ‘cowboy’ at Lighting Ranch in Pipe Creek, Texas, where he was a Ranch Foreman. He loved anything outdoors with fishing, hunting, and looking for arrowheads being some of his favorite pastimes. He was very talented with woodworking and could cook up some of the best meals at family gatherings with his sweet and sour chicken topping the list! He enjoyed collecting coins and metal detecting and loved sharing his hobbies, talents, and pastimes with his boys and grandchildren! He will be greatly missed!
Survivors include four sons, Frederick B. Hampton (Taylor), Warsaw, Mo., Christopher Hampton (Angi), Lincoln, Mo., Ronnie Hampton (Lacy), Smithton, Mo., and Dakota Hampton (Jacie), Conway, Arkansas; numerous grandchildren; his Dad, Ron Dubs, Warsaw, Mo.; 2 sisters, Terri Bassett, Swampscott, Massachusetts, and Candi Foster (Joe), Windsor, Mo.; 2 brothers, Roy Hampton, Warsaw, Mo., and Tommy Hampton (Presley), Windsor, Mo.; an aunt Sue Bandy (John) and an uncle Wayne Thompson, all of Lakehills, Tx.; and a special friend Shirley. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Hampton and his mother, Linda Dubs.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 19, 2021, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, MO, with Pastor Daniel Yoder officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery, Manila, Mo. The family will receive friends before the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to funeral expenses in care of the funeral home.
