GAIL S. JOINER

Gail S. Joiner of Winter Park, Florida, lost her brave battle with cancer on March 18, 2023, in Orlando.

A memorial service is scheduled for May 6, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Medina Cemetery.

She was born June 16, 1952, to W. Irvin and Estella L. Stevens.

Gail lived most of her life in Bandera County and had moved to Florida in 2019 to be closer to her daughter. Gail graduated from school in Bandera and attended the Dallas Fashion Merchandising College giving her an opportunity to study abroad in Paris for a semester. While she did not pursue fashion, she went on to work for many years as a cartographer before setting her sights on the newspaper business.

Alongside Carl Holt the two started the Bandera County Courier in Sept 2004 and she continued to operate the paper until 2017. She was well known and respected in the community and loved by many.

She is survived by her daughter, Bobbi Jo Campbell Aleman and husband, Jesse of Winter Park, Florida, brother Rocky Stevens and wife, Genie of Houston, grandson, Jesse Joe Aleman of Winter Park, Florida.

She is preceded in death by her parents, W. I r v i n Stevens and his wife, Estella Lena Crenwelge Stevens, niece Melinda A Stevens and companion Carl Holt.
