MICHAEL JOHN BLAKE
Michael John Blake was born February 6th of 1964 in Red Bank, New Jersey, and entered Heaven’s gates on June 26th, 2023 after battling a long, hard-fought illness. Michael relocated to Clear Lake, Texas, in the 1970s, where he was blessed to become part of the Zombory family and loved so very much as a son by Alice and Jack Zombory. Michael met his true love and soulmate Nadine in 1984, making her his wife and partner in 1987. Michael was an excellent cook, loved to play golf, and engage in healthy and sometimes infuriating debates with friends, family, and colleagues.
Michael became a father when he married, raising his stepson Adam Joshua before God blessed him with his firstborn child Cody Michael Blake and shortly after with his precious baby girl Amber Rose Molina. Michael worked in Fire Protection for 40-plus years, evolving his career from Houston to San Antonio, winning Salesperson of the Year twice, and successfully opening a new branch office. He eventually relocated and settled his family in Pipe Creek, TX, where he built his home on the lake.
Michael was fiercely devoted to his family and adored his grandchildren Jayla Dawn, Kyra Emily, Sterling Christopher, Adam Joshua (AJ), as well as blessed with Kayla Rose, Haley Nicole, Alyssa Andrea, Jacob Wayne, Dylan Foye &Blake Austin! He was constantly telling everyone they were his greatest achievement.
He was an amazing grandpa, always listening to their woes, attending their school and sports events, and nurturing and growing them into brilliant young adults. He always made time to wrestle, cook, and play dress up with them, often showing up for work with his nails painted, and hair dyed crazy colors. He had an extraordinary bond with his grandchildren and set an example for others in the family who became grandparents.
Michael passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. He was an incredible Husband, Father, Grandfather, Father in Law, Son in Law, Brother, and Uncle, and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife Nadine, sons Cody & Adam, daughter Amber, and mother-in-law Penny. His kids spouses are Jennifer, Amanda, and Jim. He was the much-loved brother to Kathie Mansfield and Tommy Blake, as well as looking down on us with his twin brother Mark Joseph and oldest brother James Santa Maria.
We want to thank everyone who cared for Michael and those who have offered their hugs and allowed us to cry on your shoulders.
Michael John Blake’s celebration of life is Saturday July 8th 4pm-8pm. Pipe Creek Fire Department 1378 FM 1283, Pipe Creek, TX 78063.
