MYRTLE MARIE SLEDGE REED

Myrtle Marie Sledge Reed, went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2021. She was born on November 26, 1931, in Cuero, Texas, to Solon and Annie Katching Sledge. She was 89 years, 6 months, and 17 days old.

Myrtle was raised in Cuero, Yoakum, Stockdale and San Antonio, Texas. She met Allen Boyd Reed and they were married for 64 years. They had three sons; Allen Junior, Kenneth Lee and Richard Craig. They raised them in Natalia and Hondo and moved to Medina in their retirements years. She enjoyed cooking and setting a nice table for various gatherings, visiting and drinking coffee with neighbors and interacting with their livestock and various pets. She also worked outside the home over the years at different jobs as well as doing clerical duties for the Means Cemetery.

Myrtle Reed was preceded in death by her parents, Solon and Annie Sledge; husband, Allen Reed; sister, Linda Hodge and daughter-in-law Lela Joy Reed.

She is survived by her sons and their wives, Allen and Rosie, Kenneth and Melanie and Richard and Loraine. She also left six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 16th , 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Stringtown Road Church of Christ, Medina, Texas, with a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Means Cemetery in Medina, Texas. Robert Garrett will be officiating.
