I want to express admiration for Republican Precinct Chair Cammie Morgan for her letter regarding the dysfunctional behavior of the existing party leadership at their meetings. We all have to live together and support Bandera together, and it’s not rocket science that we should be promoting cooperation and kindness when we relate to each other. Well said, Cammie!
Susan Hull Bandera, Texas I want to commend Precinct Chair Cammie Morgan for her LTE last week. Her courage to stand alone on behalf of good citizens who have given time and treasure to our local Republican Party for decades is to be commended. We desperately need more like her to represent us.
Our local party has sadly become an angry, tyrannical faction hell bent on dividing and thus shrinking our Republican base. They claim they are fighting “RINO’s”. Well what is their definition of “RINO?”
Most of them boldly oppose many of the planks of our State Party! They’ve even gone so far as to call fellow Republicans they don’t like “Democrats!” I am one of those! I made the mistake of defending myself when the Chair continued to call me a democrat. I simply shook my head no and then was escorted out of the meeting by law enforcement. I’m assuming most other Republicans would have done the same as me after the constant barrage of being called “democrat!”
These constant attacks on fellow Republicans is damaging our ability to recruit new voters who will vote Republican in our next election cycle. It’s no secret that our country is at a tipping point. This next election will determine if we continue on as a constitutional Republic or if we disintegrate into a leftist, socialist, banana republic the current administration is barreling toward. We will need every vote we can get to turn the tide.
The behavior of the current GOP is only turning off potential new Republicans and independents who lean Republican. I hope and pray good and honest people will step up and run for precinct and county chair and provide Chair Morgan some much needed courageous support.
