Tigers feast on Lady Bobcats
The Medina Girls Basketball team played what coach Cully Doyle called a “very good” Rocksprings team last Friday, but ultimately fell 74-30 to their opponent.
“Rocksprings is a good team and state ranked for a reason,” said Doyle. “We are excited to be starting the second round of district, and the next few games are important for the Lady Bobcats if they plan to continue to keep their playoff hopes alive.”
The team went on to play Knippa on Tuesday. Results of that game were not available by the Bulletin’s deadline.
The team faces Leakey on Wednesday and Nueces Canyon on Saturday.
“These next several games are important as we are sitting in the driver’s seat for the playoffs and it is up to us to keep the seat belt on,” said Doyle, who added he and his team are confident heading into these games.
Doyle said the community’s support is second to none.
“We understand it won't be easy but that is what makes in competitive and fun. Not everyone makes the playoffs and this girls team is trying to get there,” he said.
