The Texas Home School Coalition said in a news release earlier this month that it saw 15 times the number of public school families withdraw from public school through coalition’s website to homeschool during July of this year compared to the number of families who did so in July last year.
The coalitions said it processed 201 withdrawals in July 2019 compared to 3,114 withdrawals submitted through its website last month.
The release said the number represents only a portion of the total withdrawals statewide.
