E. coli bacterial contamination exceeded hazardous levels in the Medina River at Brewington Crossing a test in mid-July showed and at the Highway 173 bridge across the river in Bandera City Park at the end of July only to fall below the danger level days later, according to samplings conducted by the Bandera County River Authority & Groundwater District.
The river authority reported on July 22 that the river’s E. coli concentration at Brewington Crossing reached 689 MPN, or most probable number, per 100 milliliters of water in tests on July 15.
