The Bandera County River Authority and Groundwater District has scheduled a Thursday, Sept. 5, public hearing on a proposed increase in the district’s property tax rate next year.
The proposed tax rate recommended by the district’s board would exceed 42 cents per $100 valuation compared to the current rate of just over 40 cents per $100 valuation, the river authority has reported. It reflects a jump of about 1.8 cents per $100 valuation, or an increase of about 4.5 percent from the old rate.
