This morning as I was dropping my son off for first grade, he asked me “Do bees die after they sting you?”
Little did he know, I went through a phase where I was quite fascinated by honeybees; low and behold, I had the answer readily available.
“Yes, son, when a bee stings you, they leave behind their stinger, part of their digestive tract and some muscles and nerves. As a result, they can only sting one time in their entire life. and after that ....they die.”
