Breast Run Ever proceeds benefit local
The Breast Run Ever 5K and 2.5K Races were held at the 414 Ranch in Polly Peak on Saturday. The event raised money to help pay the medical expenses of cancer survivor Krystal Tripp.
A crowd of adults, families and kids ran in the race to cross a foam finish line provided by It’s Foam Time Bandera.
The day dawned bright and cool as runners began the race at nine o’clock. The run through the Hill Country was exhilarating and pleasant. Individual runners as well as families participated.
The Golden Girls Kitchen Food Truck was on site with tasty offerings, as well as a DJ Ernie Martinez, who kept the tunes going during the race.
Kids who were not running were able to jump around in the bounce houses from Zero Gravity Bouncers on site. Snacks and drinks were provided.
The first three finishers in the 5k race were Benjamin Vis in 1st, Colton Bratton in 2nd, and Craig Jacobs in third place.
Vis exclaimed, “I’m really tired, but it’s been a beautiful day.”
The top finishers in the 2.5K race were Christian Vis in first, Richard Clemenson in second, and Mathew Tripp in third place.
The foam was a big hit at the finish line for the runners as many stopped to swirl through the amazing wall of foam.
