Murr receives “Courageous Conservative” award
Texas Conservative Coalition’s (TCC) announced last week that Rep. Andrew Murr was a recipient of their “Courageous Conservative” Award.
“Fighting for the constituents of House District 53 and upholding our strong, conservative values was common sense," said Murr in a press release. "I am honored to be recognized as a 'Courageous Conservative' by TCC."
The Bulletin reached out to TCC, but did not receive a response by press time.
“During the 2021 Legislative Session, the Texas Legislature made great strides in protecting individual rights, strengthening election integrity, protecting unborn life and family values, improving healthcare access and affordability, promoting civic values and defending liberties,” read a release from Murr’s office. “TCC, along with Chairman Murr and Texas leadership, was instrumental in these successes.
Murr said in a statement that the 2021 Legislature was one of the most conservative sessions in history, but there is still more work to be done.
"I look forward to continuing to promote and defend the values and polices that have made Texas the best state in the nation to live, work and raise a family,” he said.
In addition to Murr, TCC honored 30 additional state representatives with the Courageous Conservative award and an 21 were recognized with a Conservative Champion award.
Founded in 1985, TCC is a legislative caucus with more than 70 members in the Texas House and Senate.
According to its website, its mission is to advance the conservative cause by promoting and defending limited government, individual liberty, free enterprise, and traditional values.
House District 53 includes Bandera, Crockett, Edwards, Kimble, Kerr, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, Real, Schleicher and Sutton Counties and covers approximately 15,000 square miles of Texas.
