CHRISTOPHER FERNANDEZ

Christopher M. Fernandez passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, in an Austin area hospital. He was 48 years old.

Christopher Michael Fernandez was born Oct. 7, 1971 in Kerrville, Texas to Antonia Palomo Fernandez and Juan Fernandez.

He was raised in Bandera, Texas and was a 1990 graduate of Bandera High School. Further education included a bachelor’s degree in business administration from St. Mary’s University.

Chris was the information security manager for Core Logics. He had lived and worked in the Austin area for 20 years.

He also managed to visit 32 countries. He knew how to make the most out of time.

Chris was preceded in death by his father, Juan Fernandez.

Survivors include his mother Antonia Fernandez of Bandera, girlfriend Susan Kyle of Austin, sisters Angie Guajardo and husband Eddy of Bandera and Amanda Fernandez of San Antonio, brother John Fernandez and wife Lisa of Del Rio, niece and nephew Kayla and Ryan, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as extended family members, business associates and treasured friends.

The family received friends from 2 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, with the rosary being recited at 4 p.m.

In lieu of donations, Chris would approve of doing a random act of kindness for someone.
