Rolling blackouts are in place as at least 3,800 people Bandera Electric Cooperative (BEC) customers were without power 9 a.m. Friday morning amid freezing temperatures.
Friday morning around 8:30, BEC announced they were experiencing record-high usage.
"We are working hard to minimize rolling outages while maintaining the integrity of our grid," read a Facebook post. "Rolling outages in limited portions of our service territory are necessary to prevent long-term outages system-wide."
