County expands rental area at Mansfield Park for Oct. Eclipse
The Bandera County Commissioners’ Court approved a proposal from Commissioner Jack Moseley making the road-side lawn area of Mansfield Park available for rent for Oct. 14’s solar eclipse event.
The grassy area that spans from end-to-end alongside Hwy 16 N to the edge of the rodeo arena will be available for rent at $200 per day for a three-day period: Friday 10/13 through Sunday 10/15.
Moseley explained his goal in adding this area as an option is so interested person(s) can use it for parking and vendor activity during the anticipated celestial event expected to draw tens of thousands of people to Bandera.
The annular eclipse, when the moon passes between the sun and the earth but does not entirely cover it, portraying a ring of fire, will occur between 10:22 AM to 1:31 PM in Bandera County.
This time span is from when the moon touches the sun’s edge, passes over with maximum view at 11:52 am, then leaves the sun’s edge.
