ARTHUR WILLIAM WENSKE

Arthur William Wenske, 87, of Bandera passed away on September 27, 2023.

He was born in 1936 to Walter and Julie (Granato) Wenske in San Antonio. He graduated from Harlandale High School and earned a Bachelor of Science from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science from the American Technological University.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1980, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a veteran of the Vietnam war, serving two tours of duty, and awarded several commendations. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Wenske.

He is survived by his loving wife Janice (Greenwald Claborn) Wenske, daughter Vicki (Wenske) Geiger, son-in-law Del Geiger, son Wayne Wenske, daughter Connie Wenske, granddaughter Claire Geiger, and former spouse Mada Wenske.

Visitation will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 17, followed by funeral service at 12 noon at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio. A committal service will take place at 1:35 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
