Medina’s Faith and Freedom Club met at the Rodney Camp Pavilion to hear from Austin Thomas and Lee Winright about the historic 1978 flood. Club leader Vicki Shroyer reported that their flood stories will be added to the Medina Community Book.

The Bandera Natural History Museum hosted an Easter egg hunt last Saturday, as did many locations throughout Bandera, but they were place with two sizes of eggs: regular and dinosaur.

Live music will once again be featured this month at the Frontier Times Museum’s Fourth Sunday Jamboree. Local musicians will hit the museum’s stage on Sunday, April 24. This free monthly musical program welcomes first-time guest host Dennis Owens, who will be joined by fellow musicians in a lively and entertaining Pickers Circle. The show goes on from 1 pm to 4 pm and is family-friendly and free. The museum is located at 510 13th Street in Bandera. Sit back and listen to the music that has made Bandera the place to be for cowboy music.

The Bandera ISD Board of Trustees met earlier this month for their regular monthly meeting. By far, the most discussed item on the agenda was the acceptance of a bid to replace the Bandera Middle School Roof. Other items discussed and voted on included refurbishing gym floors, staff contracts and Chromebook purchases.

On April 2, volunteer cadets from the BHS Navy JROTC participated in another successful roadside cleanup as part of April’s Don't Mess with Texas Trash-Off month which is a part of the Texas Department of Transportation’s litter prevention program.
