When the city encountered roadblocks in getting a stimulus fund set up to help local businesses that have been pummeled by the economic hardships associated with the coronavirus pandemic, a collection of business and civic leaders started their own fundraiser to provide much needed aid to businesses, and the drive is still alive.
Glen McComb, the co-owner with his wife Marcia of the Bandera General Store, said organizers of what is called the Bandera Texas Small Business Fund Raiser set a “lofty goal” of raising $50,000 when the fund got started last month, and so far about $2,600 has been collected.
