Bandera County commissioners last week voted to appoint a longtime Lakehills area dental hygienist and the only person to file as a candidate for the Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace opening in next year’s primary elections as the JP in that precinct, replacing a judge who announced her plans to retire in October.
Commissioners on Thursday, Dec. 12, appointed Gina Grothues as the new JP effective Jan. 1, the day after the retirement of the current justice of the peace, Bobbie Jo Basinger, becomes effective.
