Bandera County Farm Bureau officials urge young farmers and ranchers in the area to showcase their innovative operations by applying for prizes available through annual contests put on by the Texas Farm Bureau. The Texas Farm Bureau is taking applications now for the Outstanding Young Farmer & Rancher contest and the Excellence in Agriculture contest, officials said in a news release this month. Applicants must be between the ages of 18-35 as of Jan. 31 to be eligible for the contests and must be a current farm bureau member in good standing.
