A retired Air Force colonel living in Lakehills received a 27-month, federal prison sentence and was ordered to pay $177,000 in restitution to the Medina Lake Betterment Association last week for stealing money from the association rather than safeguarding it during his term as the association’s treasurer.
Kenneth Edward Gilmore, 77, had sought a probated sentence from U.S. District Judge Xavier Rodriguez during his Wednesday, Sept. 4 sentencing on a wire fraud conviction, but the judge opted for a 27-month prison term instead and ordered that Gilmore be placed on three years of supervised release after he is discharged from prison.
