Bandera County Republican Women’s President Carolyn Rutherford read a report to Bandera County Commissioners’ Court on Thursday, Aug. 13, listing the names and activities of prominent women and women’s organizations who contributed to the development of Bandera County and to the campaign that resulted in the adoption of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. That amendment established the right to vote for women. The 100th anniversary of the Aug. 26 date on which the amendment was certified was recognized by commissioners in a proclamation last week.
