Opponents of a proposed wastewater permit for a Christian youth camp near Tarpley accomplished their initial objective by filling a meeting hall beyond capacity with critics of the wastewater plan at a public meeting the state scheduled last week to hear comments about the proposal.
The opponents, who have organized under the name of the Friends of Hondo Canyon, estimated that on Aug. 26, 350 people filled the recreation hall at Mansfield Park built to hold 197 people, and 50 people signed up to comment on the wastewater permit proposed by the developer of the youth camp, listed as RR 417 ...
