A Thank-You TO THE COMMUNITY
Darrell Cavin would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in putting together the memorial service and candlelight vigil at Courtney Mountain Ranch for Skyler Cavin on August 29th. Thank you to Bobby Salyers and the Courtney family for allowing us to use the river site at the ranch on such short notice. Darrell’s family members, Karon Byrd, Lynn Cavin, Becky Braun, and Melinda Byrd were instrumental in putting together the beautiful service, and Darrell is forever grateful. Pastor Kyle Toomire of the Bandera United Methodist Church led a beautiful ceremony and made the heartache a little easier for all who were present.
This community has known and loved Darrell and his family for many many years, and Darrell would like to thank everyone who made an impact on Skyler’s life. He would like to thank all the teachers, staff, and friends from Alkek Elementary, BMS and the Boys and Girls Club for loving Skyler and cheering him on each day.
Skyler was a kind, vibrant, and beautiful soul whose tragic death left us all, especially his grandpa Darrell, heartbroken, but in the heartache and brokenness we must find the light and move forward in the way Skyler would want us to. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. – Matthew 22:39, This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. - John 15:12, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. - Ephesians 4:32
