COVID death reported
A new death in Bandera County was attributed to COVID-19 by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), bringing the death count in the county since the start of the pandemic to 80.
The death marks the first reported by DSHS in the county since the end of August.
DSHS reports 2,907 confirmed vases of the virus in Bandera County to date. That number was 2,797 on September 19.
The department also reports 1,193 probable cases of COVID-19 in the county since 2020.
Bandera continues to have the lowest vaccination rate out of all its neighboring counties, with 44.99 percent of the eligible population fully vaccinated and 51.23 percent vaccinated with at least one dose, according to DSHS.
