Pipe Creek motorcyclist dies in crash

Pipe Creek local Salvador Tirado Jr. was killed in a crash early last Saturday morning while traveling on Highway 281 in San Antonio, according to officials with the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) and Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office.

The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on March 11.

SAPD officials say the 45-year-old was on Highway 281 North near Bitters Road when his motorcycle was struck from behind on the right by a female driving a Honda Element.

Police say Tirado was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Element’s driver said Tirado appeared to be stalled or going under the speed limit, according to SAPD.

Following impact, the SUV spun out into a concrete barrier.
